• Subject matter is limited to laboratory and/or clinical research on the topics of urodynamics, neurourology, or voiding dysfunction. 

• Work must be unpublished (abstract submission is fine)

• Author MUST attend the Diokno-Lapides dinner at the annual AUA meeting to collect prize.

• Cover Letter must include primary author's:

  • Name, email address, and phone number.

  • ​Institution and name of sponsoring chairman​

  • Include the following statement: "I understand and accept that if I am selected as one of the winners of the Diokno-Lapides Essay Contest I will receive the cash prize only if I attend and present at the Diokno-Lapides dinner at the AUA meeting in April.  If I do not attend the award banquet I will not be eligible to receive the cash prize."

  • Signature and date

• Manuscript must be double spaced and submitted as a PDF file (.pdf )

  • Manuscript should conform to publication requirements for standard scientific journals

• Images must be added to the end of the manuscript and be in a PDF file format (.pdf ).

  • These images can be no larger than 8.5"x11" and MUST include a legend.

• Identity of author and his/her institution should NOT appear anywhere in the manuscript or on the illustrations to keep judging blinded.​
